What I'm Reading April 2017 at LifeInTheNerddom.com

I. love. to. read!

I read a LOT of books and typically have 4 or 5 books that I'm reading from on any given day. Every month I try to choose three to four books to read in the upcoming month.

This post is not necessarily an endorsement of these books, just sharing what I plan to read in the coming weeks.

These are the books I’ll be reading in April. I'll let you know what I like and dislike about them in a future post!

Time Management from the Inside Out

by Julie Morgenstern

Even those struggling to keep their heads above water can take control of their time by following Morgenstern's all-new quick start program - a lifeline that offers the breathing room needed to approach the three-step program calmly and with confidence.

I’m so excited to read this book! I’ve heard great things about it and the difference it has made in people’s lives. I am always open to learning better techniques for managing my time and this book appears to be chock full of them!

Move On

by Vicki Courtney

Life is often messy. But God makes provision to move us beyond our messes. It is in the middle of our messes, Vicki says, that Mercy shows up and offers us a safe place to process our struggles, imperfections, doubts and fears. Once we face our messes, God, with his sweet mercy, can help us get real, deal, and truly move on.

"When Mercy Meets Your Mess"  That tag line drew me to this book. I think it might be a challenging read. Anytime we decide to face our messes it can be a real struggle to see it through. This book claims to show us how to process it all with God so that we can truly heal.

A Woman's Walk With God

by Elizabeth George

Do you yearn for a closer walk with the God you so love? For a greater understanding of what it means to walk with Him? For the marks of His presence on your life? Author Elizabeth George gives practical help for how you can grow in the fruit of the Spirit.

I love anything by Elizabeth George. A Woman's Call to Prayer was truly life changing for me and will always be a favorite. I haven't read A Woman's Walk With God so when I ran across it at a thrift store I knew I had to add it to my list for this month.

Be Safe, Love Mom

by Elaine Lowry Brye

Elaine Brye is the mother of four military officers, one each in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. In Be Safe, Love Mom, Elaine weaves stories from her own life as a military mom and those of other parents with advice, anecdotes, and wisdom that is indispensable for any parent of a child in uniform.

I've read a little over half of this book already while my son was in Basic Training. I stopped before getting to the parts about living on base and deploying because I knew I wouldn't need that information at least for a while. But now, we're looking at deployment in a few months, so its time to return to this one and learn again from the wisdom and experience of Mrs. Brye.

Listen, Love, Repeat

by Karen Ehman

As we scatter love, we create a safe space where we can openly share the gospel. We get to see lives changed right before our eyes. Most importantly, Listen, Love, Repeat will enable you to live a life that is full of kind deeds, not to selfishly shout, “Hey! Look at me!” but to humbly implore, “Will you look at Him?”

Proverbs 31 Ministries is doing an online Bible Study with this book from April 3rd through May 5th. I am so looking forward to the study, and to reading this book!

I'd love to hear what's on your list to read soon, as well as any books you highly recommend.
