Using the Homeschool Grab Bag in YOUR Homeschool

Share

I have had so much fun looking through the Homeschool Grab Bag contents and figuring out how best to utilize them next year!

You've probably noticed that I haven't promoted any other bundles this year. That's because, frankly, I simply didn't believe in them. The hassle and anxiety caused by having to pick and choose from hundreds of resources, reading through all of those descriptions, making sure I didn't choose one too many at too high a price . . . who has time for that? Not me!

But the Homeschool Grab Bag is different. For one extremely LOW price, you get the whole kit-and-kaboodle, the whole shebang, ALL the resources!!

It's that time of year when we're searching for next year's curriculum and extras. Homeschool Grab Bag has so many great options for you! It might seem a little overwhelming, especially if you're new to homeschooling, so today I'm sharing my favorites along with how we'll be using them so that you can get some ideas for your upcoming school year.

First, let's break this sale down.

How The Homeschool Grab Bag Sale Works

There are TWO options in the sale, and they are super easy! You can get the BIG bag and the REALLY BIG bag! Both are packed with great resources and are a HUGE value.

The SUPER GRAB BAG costs $24.95. In it, you'll find 51 products valued at $779.83!!

The DELUXE GRAB BAG costs $39.95 and contains all of the products in the Super Grab Bag PLUS 20 more! The Deluxe Grab Bag had a value of $1,547.11!! Wow!

When you purchase either of the Grab Bags you'll receive one PDF file that includes every product included in the bag perfectly organized by subject, a brief description, a coupon code, and a link to the product. You just choose the products you want, follow the link, and complete the checkout process. Easy peasy!!

You don't even have to hurry to download everything. You have until October 31, 2020, to read through the descriptions and decide which products you want.

You may be asking if the Deluxe Grab Bag is worth the extra cost. I think so, but you can find a complete side-by-side comparison of the two bags here so that you can make that decision for yourself.

My Favorites from Each Category

For Parents
This one was pretty difficult because there are some excellent options here. I finally settled on Approaches to Christian Homeschooling by Kerry Beck valued at $57. This amazing 211-page book thoroughly covers every major homeschooling approach. It is an excellent resource for those who are new to homeschooling or those who would like to know more about the different methods.

A VERY close second is Maintain Your Homeschool Focus from Outmatched Mama valued at $47. This is a self-paced course that teaches how to maintain focus throughout the year, how to choose the best curriculum, and much more.

Language Arts
I think I'm MOST excited about this resource because my son is going to love it. Wisdom on a Whim from Eclectic Learners is an 8-week integrated language arts course that covers the novel The BFG by Roald Dahl. This is one of my son's favorite movies, but he hasn't read the book yet, so I know he's going to love this! Everything that you need to cover literature, grammar, vocabulary, and even community outreach and developing passions, is included in this study. Valued at $29.99!

Social Studies
We will be using several products from this category, but this one is my favorite! The All About Elections Online Unit Study from Techie Homeschool Mom is very timely for this year. I'm grateful for this focused unit study because it's all laid out for me and includes the reading, some videos, projects, and more. We will start this around the end of September and likely finish it just before elections in November. Valued at $24.

Bible
The standout for me in this category is the Kids Bible Trivia Game from The Fervent Mama valued at $15. My kids LOVE this type of game, and I love that they'll be cementing vital Biblical knowledge while having fun. We will likely play weekly, or at least twice each month, along with our other Bible learning.

Unit Studies / Multiple Subjects
I was immediately drawn to Nature Detectives by Kid Minds. Anything that combines multiple subjects into a nature study will definitely be a hit around here! You'll get seven experiments, nature-inspired activities, fun math activities, language arts activities, games, color-by-number, and SO much more. The kids and I have looked through many of the pages already and they are super excited to get started. This one is valued at $29.99.

Science
Last year we studied the book Famous Inventors and Their Inventions, so the Let's Study Famous Scientists Bundle will be a great way to start the new year and continue our learning. This bundle is amazing! You'll get experiments, worksheets, games, and even MP3 audio files. We are really excited about this one. Valued at $81.00!!

Also included in this category is my very own Our Wonderful World: Backyard Neighbors course. This has been a favorite in our home for many years. With this 140-page full-color nature study course, you’ll learn about earthworms, ants, spiders, butterflies, moths, and honeybees through open-and-go units ideal for elementary students. Valued at $18.95.

Math
My little man is VERY excited about the Math Games Bundle: Addition & Subtraction. Games are his favorite way to practice math skills, and there are over 30 amazing math games to choose from in this bundle! I'll print all of them and keep them together in these binder velcro pockets (aff). This method keeps them organized, but still easily accessible for him. Valued at $20.

Fine Arts
We enjoy art study so much, and the American History Art Appreciation from Powerline Productions will go perfectly with our study of American history this year. This study covers a major artist from nine different time periods—Age of Exploration to World War Era. I love how the author provides lots of leading questions and even a section on how to study art together as a family. Valued at $20.

Language Arts
My kids have been dabbling with learning American Sign Language for a while now, so this ASL Games That Will Make Learning More Fun from Homeschool Mastery Academy was a no brainer. We will all have fun learning ASL with these fun games! I plan to use them once per week, but we will probably end up playing them more often. Valued at $14.95.

Life Skills
Admittedly, there isn't much in the Grab Bag for older kids, so I was happy to find this God's Girls 105: Homemaking course from Powerline Productions for my girl. She went through parts of the Homemaking Skills course at Plain and Not So Plain last year, so this will be a great continuation for her. This monster 364-page course covers an entire year of all things homemaking, and then some! I'm excited to learn from this as well! Valued at $30!

Even if I used nothing else in the Deluxe Grab Bag (which we will - LOTS more), the above are valued at $368.93!! I'm saving over $300 just using these products.

But there's more!

In your PDF file are lots of bonus freebies, coupons, and free trials from homeschool publishers like Notgrass, Writeshop, IEW, and many more!

But don't wait! This sale ends on Monday, July 20th! When it's gone, it's gone forever, so don't miss out!
